Phoibos Watches produces an amazing (and hefty) Leviathan 500m DLC coated divers watch with only one flaw: The strap.
The provided rubber strap is anemic looking on the watch and frankly uncomfortable due to the weight of the watch itself. This is not a critique of Phoibos in any way though, I'm sure a completely custom bracelet would have drastically increased the price of the watch.
On the upside, Strapcode.com has the perfect bracelet for this beast of a watch in the Hexad DLC coated stainless steel bracelet.
Combining the two produces an amazing result that far exceeds what you would expect.
The end-link shape of the Hexad fits perfectly with the lug slope of the Leviathan. The brushing is exactly the same between the watch and the bracelet. The DLC coating is exactly the same tone and sheen of black. The weight (although something that you either appreciate or don't) is perfect together (for me).
There is likely an opportunity here for Phoibos and Strapcode to work together and I hope they do!
There are other Phoibos watches that benefit well from Strapcode bracelets such as Great Wall which is an obvious fit with the 316L SS version 1 RollBall.
Here's to seeing what the future may bring, but if you do get a Leviathan DLC, just order the Hexad 22mm DLC from Strapcode.com at the same time.
Neither vendor shown provided any product to me nor has even been in contact with me or knows about this review.
That said, they are both excellent companies with extremely high quality products and great customer service.
